Outdoor and Walking Therapy

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

The outdoor Therapy that I offer is flexible depending on each person's needs. I use a clearing on the edge of a woodland on a working farm as our base, which is set-up with a campfire (in most conditions) and a sheltered area with light protection from rain and wind. The space comprises of comfortable camping chairs, warm blankets and spare warm/protective clothing accessories like gloves, caps, scarves, ponchos and hats.

We can use the base for our full session, or we can take one of three walking routes which vary in length from basecamp. There is parking on the edge of the base. The space is situated on a working farm so caution is important when driving down the short track to the parking location.

I offer longer-term sessions for clients, and we can combine walking and sitting depending on your personal preference.

I also hold a few sessions each Thursday for 'Single Session Outdoor Therapy' - which takes place at basecamp.

Single Session Therapy

Single Session Therapy is a great way to discover a bigger picture, a metaphorical 'rise above the canopy', so we can see the wood through the trees. By hyper-focusing on what really matters right now, the process will condense learning, growth and accelerate exploration, helping those who choose this work to discover more about themselves and their patterns of relating.

What 'matters' varies wildly from person to person, this could be anything from a problematic work issue to an existential matter - or any anything in between. These sessions will not generally encompass great emotional healing, but instead can involve great discovery, which in turn can slowly promote the self-healing journey thereafter.

It is helpful when the client comes knowing what they want to explore - perhaps a 'stuck' pattern of relating, better ways to self soothe,  grounding techniques or linking childhood experiences to their present patterns of relating. Sessions can also be used to simply see how therapy might feel in a naturally calming environment.

I also offer single session therapy at retreats and festivals, where nature/movement/group dynamics/spirituality/creativity are often at the fore - I assist in helping clients explore and understand themselves and others around them better.
